From an early age I was always making something, whether it be a little bag on my mums sewing machine or learning how to knit. So when It was time to decide my career there was only ever one option for me but to go to college to study textiles.
In 1992 I went to South Thames College where I completed a BTEC 1st Diploma in Art & Design. I then went on to study at Camberwell College of Arts where I received a College Diploma in Textiles Design and finally in1995 I went to study at Middlesex University where I gained my BA Honours in Constructed Textiles, specialising in hand tufted rugs at Middlesex, this is where l developed a love of colour theory.
When I graduated in 1998 I then went on to work for esteemed rug designer Helen Yardley at her studio in London Bridge for 2 years, where I gained further experience in colour theory and the making and designing of rugs.
In 2001 I decided to do a City in Guilds in curtain making as I had all of the textiles knowledge I just needed to learn the craft of putting it all together. In that same year I went on to get a job at Three Mice Blinds where I worked for 5 years making roman blinds. For me the natural progression was to start my own soft furnishings business in 2005.
